Using SFAi as a stand-alone application, I prescan 35mm negatives on my Epson 4870, make adjustments and scan to tif's. Then, I open the tif's in Paint Shop Pro 9 to make final adjustments. Unfortunately the tif's look much brighter in Paint Shop Pro 9 then in SFAi. The RGB highlight components when read by SFAi's densitometer and PSP's Dropper also show a difference of about 10, confirming the difference in appearance.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any fixes to suggest?
SF Ai and PSP 9 densitomers don't agree for same tif

To degrub: I assume you mean monitor gamma. SFAi is set for 1.8 and PSP has an RGB match-until-you-can't-see-the difference function, which seems to have absolutely no influence on how the screen displays, regardless of how extreme it is set. How would I apply twice?

To RAG: SFAi is set to RGB as a default. Here are the settings I have tried with PSP:
______________________________________________
Image, graphic or text generated by: sRGB Color Space
Enable Color Management
Basic Color Management
Monitor Profile (1. Dell 1720FP (Digital))
Printer Profile: (hp deskjet 990c series) sRGB Color Space Profile
Rendering Intent: Pictures
I have also clicked the Proofing button under Enable Color Management which, in addition to keeping the above settings opens a Emulated device profile box which I set to AdobeRGB1998
