Setting Gamma Gradation with kodak 18% gry card?

Postby cd_albert » Tue Oct 06, 2009 5:26 pm

Hi,

Have read a number of the posts about calibrating scanners...I have an Epson V700 and will be scanning 35mm negs and slides (Right now I need to scan some B&W negs).

At the moment I only have a solid Kodak 18% gray card...is it possible to set the Gamma Gradation with this? What should the densitometer reading be?

Thanks for your help. (New guy)

Hi albert,
No, it is not possible to set the Gamma Gradation using a Kodak grey card.
You can however set the neutral point using the pipette (see picture)

Make sure you select the pipette in the middle of both triangles to mark the grey.
