Scanner jammed?

Hello, it's the second time I write this, it appears that my first post wasn't posted!

My plustek opticfilm 7200i scanner doesn't work properly anymore. I didn't use it for 2 months, and when trying
to scan a new positive film, it's lightbeam jammed. It makes a wird noise, and it doesn't move from it's place anymore.

The software works OK,
is this just a mechanical issue ? What could this be? I didn't knock it or anything...

Did you contact Plustek about this?
It is most likely a hardware issue.
