Quality of Scan

Postby burbanjo » Tue Sep 23, 2008 3:48 am

Hello,

I have bought, after I read a lot of reports, the Nikon Coolscan 5000 with the slidefeeder SF210 and the feeder ix240 for APS film. I plan to all of my color slides and a lot of negatives and APS negatives.

I was really amazed, when I saw the first pictures. But then I wanted to scan the whole APS film with 40 pictures. In the Window with all parameters, I changed the scanmodus from "normal (file)" top "batch modus (file)" and the original from "Durchsicht" to "Dokumenteneinzug" (sorry for the german words). All the other paramter for the scan like "multiscan" or "ICE" I set to the same values as before with a single picture. But now the results were really bad. As a third option I tried the Job Manager. Same, not very satisfied. I have enclosed the 3 pictures as a link. If you want to have a look at them the size is as scaned 4Mb.

single picture (very good result)

Does anybody have an idea what I made wrong?

Thank you very much for your help
Joerg

Hello,

I've got thousands of black and white and colour negatives and slides. I've got an Epson V700. so plenty of scanning to do. I only want to use the scans as parts of slideshows on a modern TV or beamer. I know how Silverfast 6.5 works, but I'm not so sure about the best scanning method in terms of ppi. Strangely enough, I can hardly find any useful information about this topic.
Have you got any suggestions?
