Please help - unable to scan 35 mm slides

Postby farlibrary » Tue Jul 25, 2006 6:53 pm

For some reason, I do not seem to have full options under the 'General' tab -- and I need them to scan slides. Specifically, my only option for Scan Mode is "Normal (File)"...in other words, transparency is not an option for me to select, and I can see no other way to begin scanning slides. I am using an Epson Perfection 4990 Photo scanner, which has a slide tray, etc.

Also, on my other computer (using an Epson Pefection 4870 Scanner), I scanned roughly 2000 slides over the past year, but suddenly my option to scan transparencies went missing, and I am limited to the options as described in the paragraph above. I have no idea why this is happening!!

Please, help!

I really appreciate it.

when in doubt , delete the prefs files for SF. Search the forum or the site for locations of prefs folder.

The plug for the transparency unit gets unplugged easily on these scanners- when the TPU is unplugged, the "transparency"- option is not shown in the software !
