Picture Settings disabled

Postby Hsiebert » Thu Apr 07, 2016 5:59 am

I am unable to use the picture settings - Midtone/Contrast/Saturation. The sliders are disabled and do not respond in any way. Why? I am scanning negatives.

Dear customer,

Please check if you maybe have selected one of the HDR RAW archive formats.
These are saved unchanged for later processing in our SilverFast HDR Studio software.
All image changing functions are disabled for this format.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Thanks for the response: That is exactly what happened, although I don't understand the reasoning behind it. Don't you have increase and/or decrease exposures to get an HDR results from negatives or other scanned sources?

Dear customer,

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. It is being used in imaging for a long time.
Please do not confuse it with tone mapping images (where you combine three differently exposed images and tone map them) which sometimes are called HDR too.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
