Options in Europe for A3 and film scanning

Postby ThomasTukker » Thu Mar 04, 2004 6:42 pm

Hi,

I am trying to find out what the better options are up to 3000 euro range if I am looking for a scanner that will scan up to A3 and has the option to scan negs and slides up to 4x5"

I read nice stuff about the UMAX and others but would like to get a little feedback on specific models in this mid range that proove to be a good combo with SF.

Thanks!!!!

Thomas

Dear Thomas

as you didn't seem to get an answer directly posted in this forum, you might want to search the internet for user opinions and reviews.
Just to get you started, please find below a (far from complete) list of possible models supported by SilverFast you might be interested in:

Microtek Artixscan 2020, ScanMaker 9800XL
http://www.microtek.nl/Product.php?Prod ... P_twoID=11

Epson Expression 1640XL, GT-15000
http://www.epson.de/eng/product/imaging/#scanner

Umax PowerLook 2100XL
http://www.umax.co.uk/WebNew_UK/Product ... 2100XL.htm

Please note that this list or the order of the scanners listed (or the absence of scanners not listed) does not imply any kind of evaluation or preference. Thanks for your kind understanding.

A valuable alternative starting point with a question like yours might be the usenet: comp.periphs.scanners
