new Mac - issue with Silverfast v6

I have just bought a new MAC running 10.9.1 and I am trying to re-install Silverfast SE version 6
when I try and run the install from the disc it fails
any ideas how to fix this problem

Dear customer,

SilverFast 6 unfortunately can not be run on OSX 10.7/10.8/10.9.
The necessary libraries are no longer available.
These operating systems require SilverFast 8 which is available from our webshop as long as the scanner is still supported.
