I've been trying to find out some information about the Ai option of multiple scans; where you can scan an image up to 16 times.
Can someone point me in the right direction for any information on this option together with the benefits I might get. For instance why do multiple scans and how many is the right option to choose?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Multiple scanning
Is there some switch in SF Ai6 to set this multiple scan or my scanner (Microtek FilmScan 1800) doesn't support that and so I can't see that switch?

Dear Peter Rus.
SilverFast doesn?t offer this feature for all scanners.
Some scanners can do multi sampling in hardware/firmware, like Nikon.
For other scanners, SilverFast has to do multi sampling by itself. Multi sampling by software simply means: sanning the same frame multiple times and then calculate the resulting image. For this method, all scans have to show the exact same part of the image. If the scanner can?t reposition exact enough, some of the scans would be misaligned and the resulting image would look worse than the single scanned image.
Eric.

Thanks for explanation!
Any suggestion how to test this method with SF Ai6 for my Microtek Filmscan1800?
regards
