I have recently upgraded from 6 to 8, scanning 35 mm transparencies on a coolscan 5000 with Mac OS 10.6.8. Many things including the interface are better in 8, but in 6 it was possible to make critical focus choices and see a comparative window, and activate this from the focus button.
With 8, once a focus point has been selected nothing happens until you press the scan button, and there seems to be no comparative focus window. It seems you can check focus via the scan button only. Is that right? Then for a faster workflow iSRD and ME would need to be turned off in order to check focus first, before turning them on again to make the final scan, and repeat this process for each new scan. Am I missing something?
Many thanks
