I shoot negative film, mostly Fuji NPS, scan it with my SprintScan 4000 using SilverFast Ai, then use SilverFast HDR 5.5 and NegaFix to process my scans.
At times, i shoot what we call here "Grip-n-Grins." This is when a politician or celebrity stands in front of the backdrop and people line up to have their photo made with him. He will shake their hand (the grip) smile for the camera (the grin) then on to the next person.
In a shoot like this, eveything is constant, lighting, the main subject, the background, the exposure, etc. My problem is when the new peorson steps into the photo. SilverFast wants to change al my settings from one frame to the next, factoring in that new person. My set and politician look different from one frame to the next, causing me to spend time on each frame, when I know there has to be a way to scan and correct one, then lock the values for the rest of the roll.
A variation on this would be if I am shooting a catalog. I would like to shoot a Macbeth Color Checker on the first frame, correct to it, then process all my photos based on the locked vales from that initial frame.
I know I can save a "Setting" in the Frame tab, but SilverFast still changes things based on how it uses the setting to interpret any particular frame.
There has to be a way to do this, can someone please enlighten me?
