Large Format_Scanning to PDF

Hi, I have a general enquiry with regards to scanning straight to PDF format and SilverFast's lack of an save option for PDF format.

At present I work for a large format printers utilising a HP 4200 scanner, for the first time ever, I see people scanning to PDF instead of the usual suspects. However, I have a hard time coming to terms with this way of producing and saving scans.

So all advice and thoughts welcome here please.

I hadn't thought of using SilverFast in this way before, you should post to the wish list asking for the ability to save as PDF. It sounds like a good idea to me.
