jpg problems

I'm new to LaserSoft and imaging in general so be kind I have a plustek 7300 scanner and have been scanning my 35mm slides and using Lasersoft on and XP machine. The files are saved in .jpg form and could be viewed with preview with no problems. Here's my problem - I opened one of the files using photoshop 7 - an embedded profile message appeared and I I selected use the embedded profile to image displayed in PS-7. I did no processing and closed the file. When I displayed it again in the Preview program the image was messed up! I've also found that the other images in the folder are messed up even though they haven't been opened by PS-7. Any ideas as to the cause of this problem. Tx

If photoshop does not have any problem opening those images, probably it is a problem of your picture viewer.

Are your pictures being saved as jpg or jpg 2000?
