IT8 Target transparency or reflective

Postby horemheb45 » Thu Dec 03, 2015 8:49 am

Hello,

I have bought an Epson V800 (flat bed scanner) and now I don't now which IT-8 target should be bought: transparency or reflective (non transparent) target.
I have to scan 35mm film and photos (paper).
Is it the same 10x15 or 13x18?
or I need a different target for accomplishing the calibration to scan each material (transparency for film and reflective 10x15 (or 13 x 18 ) for photos
I have a great confusion :-?

Thanks!

Dear customer,

That depends on which scan mode you want to calibrate.
Transparency and reflective mode have to be calibrated separately.
So if you want to calibrate both modes you need one for each.
The size of the target only matters in regards to handling and it of cause must fit on the scan area of your scanner.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Dear Arne,

I will buy two targets: transparency and reflective

I have a Epson V800 (flat bed scanner) and the scan area is DIN A4.
So, can I buy a 10x15 or 13x18 or 15x22 target because all of them fit on scan area?

Thank you for your invaluable help!

Regards,

Francesca
