I've a problem: After some scans the iSRD on my Coolscan V ED function stopped working. The result is that after the scan the status keeps saying "processing", but nothing happens. Doesn't matter how long you will leave it like that. This is on a windows 7 64 bit laptop.
If I deselect the iSRD function or just select SRD everything is going fine and the file is saved as normal. An other thing is when you put the iSRD preview function on Mark, the whole scan turns red.
I had this problem also a while ago, but after a few months trying iSRD for the first time again it worked, until now. I have already restated the scanner, the laptop, resetted the settings of silverfast and the scanner.
The same problems seems to exist in these two topics, but without a final solution:

post34301.html?hilit=isrd mark red#p34301
What is happening here, how can I further debug this problem. Some help please, thanks in advance.

Re: iSRD not working anymore, only processing
Dear customer,
This can have several reasons.
The scanner might have a temperature related issue which causes the infrared system to fail after some time.
Also some film types (foremost B&W) can block the infrared channel.
It is also possible that SilverFast runs out of memory.
In that case you can assign more memory in teh SilverFast 8 preferences' general tab.
Here you can also move the temporary files to another harddisk to reduce load on the main harddrive (meaning access not storage space).
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
