Because SilverFast AI (NikonM) doesn't work under OS X 10.2 yet, I currently use v**s**n to scan my film and produce the RAW 48-bit files, then run the files through SilverFast HDR to produce HiRepp files for archiving, and then run the HiRepp files through HDR again to produce the final scaled scans for distribution/printing.
I would like to have an accurate color managed work flow, but v**s**n cannot embed the Nikon scanner's profile into the RAW file. Is there any way of assigning the Nikon profile to the scan while producing the HiRepp file via HDR?
At the moment, my CMS setup in HDR has <none> for Scanner > Internal profile, RGB for Internal > Output, and Nikon Adobe 1998 for the CMS Internal profile, thereby embedding an Adobe 1998 profile into the HiRepp file. Is this the correct way to set up an accurate color management workflow given that I cannot assign a scanner profile directly to the RAW file?
Will using SilverFast HDR to convert the RAW files to HDR files actually produce HiRepp files, or do I absolutely need to use SilverFast AI to product HiRepp files during the initial scanning stage?
regards
Gregory

How to embed an ICC-Scanner Profile into HiRePP data
Dear Gregory,
you can embed either the internal colour space ICC-Profile or a scanner ICC-Profile into HiRePP data.
Here is the CMS set-up for embedding the scanner ICC-profile.
??
For more instructions you can also use the nice pdfs from Ian Lyons at:
