HDR RAW Option in Preferences / General

Postby bosveldboer » Tue Feb 09, 2016 10:38 am

Hi,

What exactly is the the meaning and use of the the option HDR RAW in Preferences / General?

My understanding is that all the filter settings are saved in the HDRi RAW data file, but as these filters and processing are not applied in RAW files, what is the use?

1. If I don't save this data in the RAW file (uptick the box), what do I loose when I process the RAW file later with HDR Studio?

2. Are there any negative effects if I don't save this data in the RAW file?

Regards

Dear customer,

The HDR RAW creates a file that can store the filter data inside the file.
This will be used by the SilverFast HDR (Studio) software.
For a non-RAW HDR file these are stored in a local library.
This decision is made during scanning, so SilverFast HDR (Studio) knows which way to use when loading the file.
The only drawback of using HDR instead of HDR RAW is that the file does not store the settings and these therefor can not be moved with the files.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
