Getting Started with Black & White.

Postby froliol » Mon Aug 31, 2009 1:43 am

Greetings All, I just purchased a Plustek 7500i and it came with Silverfast SE software. I am a bit overwhelmed to say the least. With that said I am looking for general parameters to scan black and white negatives. I generally shoot Kodak 400CN and Ilford HP5.

When I scan I am setting the Scan Type to 16->8 Bit Grayscale, is this correct?

Any good links for general best practices regarding scannig B&W negatives would be great.

Thanx, Louis.

Greetings, thanks for the response.

I am scanning B&W negatives, not slides. Is the setting still correct?

Dear Luis,

yes this alos applies for negatives but you obviously need to set SilverFast into negativ mode and select an appropriate NegaFixy profile.
