Functions deactivated getting 16bit images

I just bought SF8 and I'm using it with Nikon CoolScan V and Mac OS 10.7. As in the past I usually prefer to get 16bit channel dip color images. The problem I'm experiencing is that selecting 48 < 16 bitpratically all functions are deactivated, while selecting 24 > 8 bit all functions are activated. Can you help to solve the problem?

Dear customer,

Are you talking about the 16/48/64bit HDR(i) formats?
Those are unprocessed, raw image files which need to be processed in SilverFast HDR (Studio).

Yes I'm talking about the 16/48/64bit.
Sorry for the stupid question, but there is one thing that is not clear to me. Why are you talking about raw? Raw remind me to digital photography while I'm using the scanner to scan negatives and slides.

raw like in the sense of unprocessed.
