So I updated to Silverfast 8.5.0r3, which has the new Job Manager in it. It used to be that when I copy-and-pasted settings from one frame to another, it would include the Histogram settings. Now that doesn't happen any more, and I have to type in the histogram settings by hand, AFTER doing a preview scan of the latter image (which used to just get the settings pasted onto it, never needing a preview). This is a huuuge lag on my workflow, as I have several hundred negatives to scan.
Is there any way to have the new "Apply Settings" function work for Histogram data too?
Thanks!

Dear customer,
You can copy the image auto adjustment for the image.
Copying the Histogram setting does not really make any sense, which is why it was removed.
The Histogram has individual values for each images.
So transmitting that data would not fit the target image.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: Copying Histogram settings to another frame
Ah, I beg to differ. All of the photos I am scanning in are, essentially, panoramas. They are negatives that are wider than the scan area of my Nikon Coolscan 4000. So I must scan one half and then the other half. Those halves must match, of course. I like Silverfast's Auto Adjustments, but sometimes they aren't enough, and I need to mess with the histogram. In previous versions of silverfast this wasn't a problem because I could copy-and-paste the histogram onto the other half. But now I have to preview scan the other half, and then manually type in the same histogram values as the first half.
In other words, I copy-and-pasted histogram values all the time, and would still like to.
I'm not saying it has to become and automatic feature, but it would be a nice option in the copy-and-paste-settings dialog box (just another check mark).
And I brought this up in another forum, but it would be great to be able to decide which options are automatically selected in the copy-and-paste-settings dialog. Or at least, have it remember the last selections you used.
Thanks!

Re: Copying Histogram settings to another frame
This is a related, but bigger problem: I can't seem to copy any of the imaging information (Histogram, Gradation, Color Correction) from one frame to another. This is necessary for scanning in panoramas.
I used to be able to scan in one half of the pano, hit the Auto CCR button, then copy-and-paste the resulting settings via the Job Manager. Now that does nothing (even if I select 'Apply Image Automatics' in the copy-and-paste window).
How do you recommend I scan in these panoramas?

Re: Copying Histogram settings to another frame
We will re-introduce the possibility to copy those values in a coming update.
At the moment I can only suggest a few workarounds.
If you only load the two parts of a panorama the easiest way would be to use the copy settings to all frames from the frame menu.
That should copy the values.
Or you can switch the Histogram to 16 Bit mode in the Densitometer dialog and transfer the values from Histogram and Gradation manually.
A third way would be to save the values in the Histogram and Gradation dialogs and load them for the target image.
I am sorry that I can not provide a more comfortable way at the moment.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: Copying Histogram settings to another frame
Hi, I'm just seeing if this was indeed fixed in the newest update? I updated to Silverfast version 8.5.0r6 and the problem seems to remain.
To be clear: all I want is to be able to use the Auto CCR function on one image, and then take the new settings of that image and paste them onto a different image. This used to be a function and it was removed.
Thank you!
