Can I speed up prescans?

Postby Lazzo » Mon Jan 10, 2005 9:20 pm

As the title says. I'm using:
Firewire Umax Powerlook 1120
G5 dual 2Gh Mac running 10.3.7 with 1.5GB RAM
SilverFast plug-in v6.4.0r9e.

Prescans take as long as the real scan, it's a bit of a drag. The other popular Mac scanning software whose name begins with a 'V' works very swiftly in comparison. Here are my General settings from the top down:
CMY
CM
2 Pixel
SilverFast Defaults
<Save...>
Anti Aliased
1x
Off

As the High Resolution Prescan option is set to 1x, shouldn't it be quicker? I've been using SF for years, I never have managed to speed it up - have I been missing the blindingly obvious??

Ta.

Dear Lazzo

> Options > Special > Prescan draft
might be the thing you've been searching for.

Kind regards

Hi Sonny, that's ticked. None of the buttons under Special make any difference. Any other thoughts?
