I'm scanning with an Epson Perfection 4490 flat bed and hoping to get quality output for at least a 15X10 inch print.
I have done some practice scans and it appears that a dpi of 1200 or 2400 gives the best results. Can someone
please advise me on the best dpi and would multiple scans be better than one scan only? Yes, I realize my scanner is
not the best for this purpose but it is all I can afford.
Thanks.

Hi Tom,
The highest optical resolution in SilverFast can be achieved by placing the resolution slider to the rightmost place and then returning it one step to the left.
Cheers

Kodak Tri-X film has a resolving power of 100 lines per mm. Multiply by 25.4 mm/in = 2540 lines/in. That's what the best the film can do.
