batch scanning slides with SilverFast AI

Postby chuithecat » Wed Jun 15, 2005 10:24 pm

Hi,
I am new here and just bought a microtek i700 and it came with Silverfast SE software (V 6.4.1r9c). I need to scan lots of slides. I am not able to scan 1-8 slides in one scan. After checking the forum for my problem I found this reply to the same problem I have:

Nov 25, 2004 from Sonny Noack
"SilverFast SE doesn't allow neither for batch scanning, nor to draw more than one scan marquee frame"

Does this apply to batch scanning for negatives too?
Am I forced to upgrade to SilverFast AI and pay the additional US$70, or is this problem fixed in the meantime?

Even my 5 year old Agfascanner (Scanwise SW) was able to batch scan many slides at once in one scan?!?!

Thank you for any help
Kind Regards
Chuithecat

Dear Chuithecat

this is no problem, but a straightforward marketing decision.
SilverFast SE is deemed for home users whereas imaging professionals want to use the Ai (not only because of the batch scanning feature, though).

For your USD 70 you do not only get the feature to batch scan, but a follow array of new possibilities. Have a look on the Ai product page, if you are interested: https://www.silverfast.com/show/silverfast/en.html

Or download a demo and try for yourself: https://www.silverfast.com/sf-download/demo/en.html

Best regards
