Hi,
I'm batch scanning for the first time. I've scanned one strip of b+w negatives using
Silverfast Ai but only the first image is being scanned and saved at the correct
resolution and size of 38mb. All the other images are being saved at 220kb and are
too small.
many thanks for any answers
Neil

Hi Neil,
You have to set the resolution for every single frame you want to scan. You might want to check this out:
http://blog.silverfast.com/transfer-frame-settings-to-other-scanning-frames/#more-171
Kind regards

Scanning colour negatives but they appear completely black
Thanks - that works but I've now got another problem. I'm scanning
6x7 colour negatives using negafix, setting it for transparency and negative
but the scans are completely black. The negafix is correct for the film
(fuji reala) but the only way I can see an image is to switch it to
positive which I can't then use.
ps the first time i posted a query i received an email telling me there
was a reply I didn't last time.

Oops - think I may have given your wrong information.
When I switch to positive the negatives appear as negative!

Dear martinson1305,
This is correct the positve mode is for positives.
If you want to transfor negatives the mode should be set to negative.
Make sure the brightes and darkest point are set correctly in the histogram.
Make sure you do not have any "tiny" scanframe somewhere in a dark area which might be scanned.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Scanning colour negs but they are coming out black
Hi Arne,
Thanks - but whatever I do the colour negatives are appearing completely black
when I scan them.
Not sure what you mean re scanframe.
What doesn't make sense is that when i scan colour trannies they work fine using
negafix.

Dear Neil,
Sorry for comming back a bit late to you.
You first described having your negatives as black then you said they appear as negatives and then again as black?
Which problem is it exactly, are you getting black scanns of your negative pictures? or are thy just being scanned but as negatives?
Cheers
