Hi!
I habe some troubles due to an error saving my scns in silverfast ai. as file format I chose jpeg - 16 bit grey scale. my problem now is that I can't open these files to convert them to tiff format. I tried to get a viewer capable of the new jpeg200 format, but this one tells me when I try to open a file something about 12 bit depth and cannot open the file. The viewer can read 16 bit greyscale but it seems that silversoft didn't save 16 bit depth but 12 bit. (Scanner is plustek and supports 16 bit!!!)
Does anyone know about a progran (viewer/converter), which can read these greyscale files and convert them to 16 bit tiff?
I don't want to spend hundrets of euro buying the silverfast hdr just to view my scanned images...
Thanks in advance,
Peter

Dear pmitterboeck
16 bit greyscale or 48 bit of colors aren't part of standard JPEG format.
These files can only be read by SilverFast HDR.
Because of misunderstanding cases like this, there will be a splash info box implemented telling you about above fact in case you hadn't already known from 6.2.2r3 on.
JPEG2000 is a different pair of shoes and can't be compared with SF JPEG 48 bit / 16 bit per channel files. SilverFast really works on 16 bits per color channel.
