A rookie's request for color management assistance.

Postby icanscan » Thu Jul 27, 2006 6:30 pm

Color management has been a bit of a confusing issue to me. I am a total rookie at this.

In an attempt get better color management I purchased a Pantone Huey (not the best maybe), and followed the instructions on setup. I have the device setup to adjust to room light every 30mins.

Here is the question. Using the Huey, PhotoshopCS in WindowsXP and Microtek 1000XL with SilverFast, what should I do next to get them all working on the same page?

I know the solution to type of question must have been answered before.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Also, should I get the SilverFast: Official Guide?

Thanks in advance!

icanscan,

Unlike your monitor you should not need to change the color for your scanner and printer every 30 minutes.

Does your Huey allow you to create scanner and printer profiles? If it did creating them would be your next step.

I found "SilverFast: The Official Guide" to be very helpful and would recommend it as a good resource.
