Problem with Scanjet 8250

Postby Sebolus » Tue Jun 28, 2005 3:24 pm

Hello everybody.

I own a Scanjet 8250 Flatbed-Scanner and use the Silverfast 6 Ai Studio to scan images. I am scanning via the Twain-Module in Photoshop CS 2. My Operatingsystem is Win XP.

Now heres my problem:
I have scanned several pictures and then a failure Returns, that the software is not able to use the import-command. When I click OK and restart a Prescan, there appears only one black surface. I tried to uninstall the Silverfast-Software and reinstall it, but this haven't solved the problem. I installed the newest update of the Silverfast-Software and this doesn't even solve the problem, too.

So does any one have an Idea what I can do to solve this problem??? We are using the scanner for business use and can't use it until the error is fixed, so i would be pleased by a soon answer :)

I am wondering about the fact, that the scanner still runs with the HP-Software but when I am trying to scan with silverfast, there is the black surface.

Thank you in advance.

Now the other scanner (a scanjet 8250 too) has the same problem, and i can't even tell you why or when the error occurs.

Please help us. Can any moderator help me??? I have already send an Support-Email to your Support. This was yesterday at approximatly 11 a.m. and i don't got an answer yet. Please help us, it's really important. Or is it a better way, when I give your Call Center a call.

Dear Sebolus,

maybe a silly question but: turning the scanner off and on didn't solve the problem? Please be aware that the scanner has no real power switch, maybe you should unplug the power cord from the scanner, wait a moment and plug it in again.
Do you scan transparencies or reflective material?

Best regards
Ralf
