Negative Adapter

Postby kuttler » Sun Jun 19, 2005 3:12 am

When scanning negatives, I can't get the negative adapter light to tun on.

Works fine with HP Scanjet software.....

How/what settings do I need to make this happen on my 8200

You have to switch from reflective to transparency, too.

Scan Lines

Thanks, Got the Transparency adapter to turn on,
Next problem - using a 35MM neg, Kodak Porta VR 160,
Settings
4800dpi
output size 300% of origional

I get very bad scan lines... on the output. What other settings should work when I would like the final result to be a clean 8x10?[/b]

Thanks
Dave

Dear Dave,

in the current version for the HP ScanJet 8200 there's a problem when scanning at 4800dpi, which will get fixed in the next release.
Meanwhile you should only scan with 2400dpi (you won't get much more details compared to 4800dpi anyway).

How soon for the fix?

I have the same problem 9600 dpi....

Can I only use 2400?

Dear Dave,

the fix should be available within (hopefully) two weeks, at least the Windows version (probably included in 642r2).
Until then you are limited to resolutions lower than or equal to 2400 dpi.

Best regards
Ralf
