Hello all,
After reading about the HP g4050 it looks like a good scanner on paper, never the less, the reviews mention that the software that comes with scanner is terrible.
I can imagine that if the hardware is good, a combination with good software, like silverfast, will make it a very good scanner.
Does anyone had experience this scanner with silverfast?
Does it give good results, especially for negatives?
How is the quality of the film holders?
And last question: would we see a Mac suitable version of silverfast for the g4050?
All the best,
Eyal.

Dear Eyal,
SilverFast works greate with the HP G4050
Infrared dust and scratch removal is not supported by SilverFast for the HP G4050 scanner in this release.
Please also notice that Multi-Exposure and 6 color scan can not be combined. You should use the latest Driver Package from HP (9.0 and newer) to assure compatibility.
Currently we are waiting for feedback from HP to realize the Mac version of SilverFast for the G4050.
kindest regards,
