Can Negafix be used to scan negatives to positives on the flatbed alone or do I need to get the HP negative holder accessory(C7671B)?

I ordered the SilverFast Ai but I'm trying to use the demo following the NegaFix tutorial. One of the setting isn't labeled as in the tutorial and has a "none". I forget the exact name of the field but has the word "reflective" in it but the tutorial has the word "tranparent" which is the option in HP ProScan for that accessory! It could just be that it's the demo which isn't scanner moldel specific?

Dear wptski,
that SilverFast NegaFix function only makes sense for transparency negatives, as all the film profiles in that NegaFix are profiles of negative photo-film (transparent). The NegaFix is not of much use in reflective scans.

LSI_support_Kohler:

By reading a bit about scanners(reflective/transperency), I figured out myself that I needed the adapter, so it also is on order! I hope that they both arrive together but I'm sure that won't happen! I hope the results are positive

Thanks for the reply!
