HELP SOFTWARE LOCKS UP AFTER THE FIRST IMAGE

Postby Mountain Visions » Wed Feb 27, 2008 7:55 pm

I just spend $104 on this software, and honestly, it works no better than the HP software.

I bought this for the batch functionality, yet it locks up during the 1st or second scan each time.

It says "error if using 6 color scanning please make sure the scan tray is aligned".

Well here is the thing. even with ALL settings turned off, it still pops up that message.

1) 6 color

2)multisample

3) multiexposure

4) all of the above turned off.

Is this software junk? Or is there something I am doing wrong.

The bottom line, I need this to actually complete a tray of scans in batch mode. Otherwise this software was entirely useless. The literature claims it does this, the settings allow it but the software appears to be nearly as buggy as the HP stuff, at least that was free.

Please help!

Dear Mountain Visions,

sorry to hear about your bad experience, lets try to solve it !

Usually SIlverFast only throws that message at you if you:
-1- want to scan in 6 color mode
-2- did not use and properly align one of the original HP image trays

So if you do not use 6 color scan at all and you are not using a third party image holder you are perfectly right to complain.

In the beginning of the G4050 there were some driver versions that did not completely work with SF, if you are using 9.0 this should be fine.
Could you report which HP driver / Software version you are using ??

( and which OS Version you are using ) ?

Thank you & best regards,

Nils Heidorn
