What Folder does the 64bit driver go for Silverfast 8

Postby arbib » Wed Sep 26, 2012 3:54 pm

I have a Plustek 7300, Silverfast 8 and a Win7/64 laptop
I have no idea where I need to place the 64bit driver for Silverfast 8.'

I have both 64bit and 32bit versions installed, but, I need to manually download and install the 64bit drivers for my older Plustek 7300

I am using the 32bit version now, BUT, would like to use the 64bit version..

Any help is appreciated!

Peter

Dear Peter,

You do not have to put the Plustek driver anywhere.
Plustek supplies a zip file containing an installation software which will install any necessary components.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

OK, did that, but, I got an error saying I had no scanner connected! It was turned on too.

Re-installed the 32bit drivers.
Back where I stated, no 64bit driver for the 7300, so I still run the 64bit version of Silverfast 8.x, only the 32bit. arggg

I thought the 64bit drivers for the 7300 would run the 64bit Version 8.x, as suggested by the Driver Update information for the 7300 and Silverfast 8.x 64bit.

Sorry I do not quite understand the issue.

Plustek offers the 3.2.0.1 driver for Windows 7 64.
This is the correct driver for SilverFast 8 64.

The 32bit driver can not be used.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

I have both 64bit and 32bit versions of SF8.x
the 64bit version did not see my scanner. I did restart win7.

I got the error message when I loaded the 64bit version, and the scanner was turned on, and I used the silverfast launcher that has the 64bit available to use.

After following the suggestions to uninstall the 32bit version, and installing the Plustek 64bit drivers, then instal the 64bit SF8, and rebooting 2 times. once for the drivers, once for the SF8-64
And using the direct SF8-64 EXE... not the old SF Launcher.
All works well..
I guess SF6.6x can no longer be used, without resorting to the 32bit drivers.... ARggggggg If these drivers could co-exist!!!!!
