I have been using SF 5.5.1 with my SprintScan 4000 running on WindowsXP and have had no problems. However, since upgrading to 5.5.2r02 this last week, I've had various problems and crashes of Photoshop and Windows. For instance, SF often recognizes my strip film holder (negatives) as a slide holder. Also, I keep getting a popup message saying "Scanner not ready" or some such when I attempt to perform an overview scan of all frames in the holder, or if I attempt to do a preview scan of one of the frames. Sometimes restarting PS will fix this, sometimes not. PS and/or Windows occasionally crash or lockup during a final scan also. Anyone have any clues what may be going wrong here?

FYI, I removed the previous version of SF before installing 5.5.2. I also tried installing ASPI 4.7 (XP approved). For now, I've reinstalled 5.5.1, which is still working fine with my setup.

Please check the firmware version of your scanner. It should be at least 1.30 The SilverFast SF_logfile or the original Polaroid Insight software may tell you the version of your firmware.
Please visit http://www.polaroid.com for more information on updating your firmware.
