Silverfast Studio Ai and Photoshop Elements 7

Postby pwg » Sun Jun 14, 2009 3:01 pm

I am new to scanning. I have installed Plustek 7500i & then Silverfast Stidio (came bundled)

SF works fine from Launcher. However through PSE I get "Film Scanner" listed. This seems to give same choices with or wothout the SF software installed.

Clearly I can use SF as a standalone & then import from file & this gives good results.

When I select film scanner under PSE scan is produced but quality is so poor that it is unusable. It appears that PSE& is not recognising SF.

Any thoughts?

We have also been having scanning issues with Photoshop Elements 7 since upgrading to 6.6.1 (Windows XP Pro SP3). I am glad to find it is a known problem and am looking forward to the fixed update.

Dear Charlie Luce,

we have just implemented support for Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 into the latest version of SilverFast 6.6.1r1, maybe you corrupted the preferences while upgrading so I would suggest deleting them via our Service Dialog: http://www.silverfast.com/problemreport ... &faq_id=59

This should hopefully solve your issue

Huh, that has never happened before.

I had to do some extra searching on the support site as the link you provided is apparently for Mac and not Windows, but I found where to remove the old preferences and this does appear to have solved the problem.

Thank you! :)
