SilverFast and Photoshop7.

I recently installed Photoshop 7. I have an Epson 2450 scanner and installed SilverFast 5.5 with it. I keep getting the error message "Searching Devices" and the computer locks up when I try to scan through Photoshop/Import. Do I understand correctly that SilverFast is not compatable with PS7 and that is why I can't bring up the scanner? If so, when do you expect a SilverFast version compatable with Photoshop 7? Thanks
