SilverFast Ai plug-in and TWAIN causes program to close

I noticed that beginning with version 5.0, SilverFast Ai plug-in and TWAIN will cause host programs to shutdown when scanning at resolutions 600 dpi and above.
I use the Epson 836XL.
The symptom is present in version 5.5.1r03.
The sympton is worse in version 5.5.2r02, in which I am unable to scan at even 300 dpi.
(The Epson TWAIN Pro software performs flawlessly at all resolutions.)
The symptom is present in both Win2k and XPpro. I'm using the OEM provided SCSI card and 6' Belkin Gold cable.
Am I the only SilverFast/Epson 836XL user experiencing this issue?

Dear All.

The problem is solved now and updates will be available soon.
The problem concerned the Epson 836XL on PC systems only.
The version number of SilverFast with the fix is v5.5.2r09 or higher.
