After I have done a scan with SF6 SE (PS-plugin) on my Nikon LS-40 Photoshop crashes immediately (100% CPU load, but only 200MB RAM load). This effect appears only since I have switched from Win2K to XP Prof.. Scanner has Firmware 1.20 (latest), the latest Nikon scanner driver (3.2) is installed, XP has all latest patches (SP1) and I use SF6 SE (v6.0.1r36). This problem occurs also on PS5.5 German, 6.0 English and 7.01 German. My system is a P4 2400 with 512MB RAM. I have also tried some system settings like moving the scratch disc of PS to another partition without success. Have anybody encountred the same problem or knows how to solve this bug? Or can this be a problem of the USB-Interface (eg. 2.0)? Many thanks for any idea!

PS7 crahes on XP
Hello Ralf,
thank you for your tip on the latest update. I have tested it today with a fresh install of PS 7.01, but without success. Photoshop shows the same behaviour than before with r36. Any other ideas from the readers?
Best regards
Juergen
Added 19.09.03:
SE6.1.0r2 PS-plugin even does not close properly if used as stand-alone solution. Program must be closed by Task Manager of XP, so PS7 may not be the problem at all....
Added 20.09.03:
SE6.1.0r3 is not better, same problems as above....

I too am experiencing crashes after the scan into PS 7 with XP. After the scan, my CPU usage is stuck at 100% (until I close out Photoshop). I'm using a Nikon LS4000. I have been experiencing this for a while now, and the latest upgrade to Silverfast Ai v6.1.0r4 didn't fix the problem. Although it DID give me a driver conflit to where I had to completely remove the Nikon Scan software. Using Nikon, I could at least import my scans directly into Photoshop. Has anyone been able to work this bug out??
Thanks
Thanks
