Crash whenever I ask for an overview scan

I use a Nikon Coolscan 800 ED.

I find that Silverfast will very reliably crash whenever I ask for an overview scan before the negative carrier has been recognised by the scanner.

It's an avoidable problem but it's infuriating when I forget to wait.

Any chance this can be investigated and fixed?

Dear customer,

Please make sure you are using the latest update.
This issue has been fixed.
In case your issue remains try resetting SilverFast through the welcome screen's service dialog.
If that still does not help please reply and I will forward your case to our support center.
