Silverfast 6.01r28
Plug-in version
Polaroid Sprintscan 120
IT8 calibration with CROES slide & TK199910C2.txt reference file
Photoshop 6.01, Windows98SE, 768MB Ram
Bug Report:
After the scan is complete (scanner finishes, blue progress bar is complete, thumbnail is complete. The plane is still flying) -
The image is Not brought into photoshop UNTIL you click the Cancel button!
I have found that this situation can be corrected if you delete the entire contents of the Prefs folder and start Silverfast up again.
However, after you do an IT8 calibration the original problem returns !
This means that either I cannot do calibrated color work or I must live with the annoyance of the image not popping up in PS after the scan is complete.
There are several users reporting this problem..
thank you,
Frank

I have noticed that the same problem happens when previewing in SRD. The blue bar just hangs there and if cancel is pressed then nothing happens. Again if you delete the entire contents of the Prefs folder and start Silverfast up again then there is no problem.
I have now had this problem with both the plug-in and twain versions. The Gain feature also seem to cause some of the 'hang' problems. When the Gain and SRD are used together and even after deleting the contents of the Prefs folder the problem is there.
Having to go through this procedure everytime to scan makes the software unusable.
system: Silverfast 6.01r28
Plug-in or twain version
Polaroid Sprintscan 120
firmware 1.33
IT8 calibration with CROES slide & TK199910C2.txt reference file
Photoshop 7, Windows2000, 512 MB Ram

Bug Report: Confirmed
Hi Silverfast,
I have had the same problem reported in this thread over the past two nights trying to scan over 80 slides and 20 negatives. I wasted at least 4 hours trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I have the following:
Polaroid Sprintscan 4000
IT8 Calibration w/Croes slide
Photoshop 7.0 (can't remember release), Silverfast as plugin
Windows 98
Siverfast AI 6.0r28
Problem: random hangup of scanner on batch scan to file - scans first image then hangs up with propellar spinning. If you hit cancel you have nothing in the file. First time this occured I had created a new file on the hard drive to send scans to as TIFF files. The problem occurred. 2nd time, 3rd time, fourth time, etc. (about an hour). Exit silverfast, photoshop, start again - same problem. Exit all shut off computer, restart, same problem. Then exit all, shut off scanner as well, restart scanner, computer, photoshop, Silverfast - same problem (two hours!). Shut off all again, restart, refresh prescan, prescan 1st image again, change image framing (and leave all unlocked) - batch scan worked and kept working. Day 2: start again with chromes - change file size from 4000 to 2000 and Silverfast hangs up again! Try what worked day 1 and doesn't work. Keep prescan refresh, prescan again for 1st frame, change framing a little (and this time lock all dimensions after framing) batch scan works???? Change to scan negatives, leave everything the same but just adjust framing - Silverfast freezes again!! Play around for another hour and half with shutting everything down, restarting etc. Finally leave x axis unlocked y axis locked and batch scan works - I think this is very random and there must be a bug that is circumvented. Also, I have Silverfast set to return after scan - it never opens up correctly - just control panel and wizard. I have to click on option and then click ok to anything and then Silverfast opens correctly???? Please fix this bug - I've used Silverfast for over 1 year and this latest problem is wasting too much time and does not build confidence in your product/

Dear graig_a.
Sorry, the responses were given in the Polaroid thread by LSI_Belli. You?ll find the answers here: https://www.silverfast.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1516&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0. Eventually write a privat message to LSI_Belli.
Eric.
