Ai Studio crashing under Vista/Photoshop CS3

Postby amitaba » Fri Mar 28, 2008 6:41 am

Has anyone experienced this? I run Ai Studio as plugin under CS3, after 6-12 scans PhotoShop/Silverfast crashes without warning. This is completely repeatable. Only happens with this combo, no other CS3 plugin fails, nor does SilverFast standalone fail. DualCore Intel sytem, 4GB RAM...

hi!
all problems with silverfast ai and vista32 disappeared when i disabled windows service "windows automatic picture acquintance" (tried to translate the service from german menu.)
via services.msc you have to DISABLE that service, setting to MANUAL doesn't do the trick! i never needed that service; but service was started by default.
any questions - please ask.
thx - walterz

i remember having probs with scanning at high res with pagefile on a partition with low free place; means a 100 gb partition with only 5 or 6 gigs of free space. pagefile was round 3 gigs means 1,5 x ram. maybe that info helps you.

Dear Antoine,

thanks a bunch for the tip with the windows service. We will check whether this is relevant from our developers. Although we did not verify the problem amitaba has but we may have a new path to go now.

Thanks again, JAN.
