Which profile for Kodak safety film 5075?
Which profile for Kodak safety film 5075?
Hi,
I am using a plustek opticfilm 7200. Silverfast SE was upgraded to 6.4.4r7.
I need to scan some old negatives Kodak Safety Film 5075 and I can't guess which profile is appropriate. In another forum (v**s**n) I found that it could be changed to Kodak Kodacolor II, but this choice is missing also.
Trying all the Kodak choices I see that they are always much too blue.
Any suggestion?
TIA
Claudio

Dear c.giori,
The film in question is the same Kodacolor II which is a very old film and not available anymore. We do not have this film type in our NegaFix list available. However you can create your own film type in the advance mode, please check the following links:
http://www.silverfast.com/download/docs ... Fix-en.pdf
http://www.silverfast.com/download/movi ... -08-09.mov
http://www.silverfast.com/download/movi ... -05-13.mov
There you will find all necessary information to create the desired profile for your missing film type.
Thanks for your interest in our products

New negafix profile
I am scanning some old slides and need to know if there is a film profile for Kodak Safety film 5025. Do you have a list of what profiles are available or are they all listed in negafix? i.e is there somewhere where I can download various new profiles?

Hi buddy
I merged your post with this thread. Please check the previous answers. I know they are different film types but the answer is the same

Dear Alejandro, Thanks for your message. I am getting to grips with sorting out the film types. Just another quick one, Do you have any idea when Archive Suite 8 might be available?

Re: Which profile for Kodak safety film 5075?
I have over 100 rolls of KodaColor (5075 and 5035) film I would like to scan.
I have tried to adjust the Negafix curves but only made the picture worse.
Please explain how I should scan my negatives with without the proper profile.
Thanks

Hi Shawn
I can not really tell how you should modify the curve because I do not see the pictures you are working with nor the adjustments you are making.
Have you checked the links and videos posted above?
Perhaps if I could see the pictures you are working with and some screenshots of the adjustments you are doing I might be able to understand what is happening.
Cheers

The scanner I am using is a Plustek 7600Ai
Here is a picture I scanned with my own profile for KodaColor II. The negatives are almost 40 years old and have faded. Trying to make a profile using a faded photo does not seem the right way to do this. That is why we need your profile.

Here is a photo for comparison.

Re: Which profile for Kodak safety film 5075?
Dear user,
unfortunately the poster did not menation which scanner he was using to create the profile. Film profiles are scanner specific and can not be used on another device.
If you want to try unzip the file.
Rename the file to
Other Kodak 5075.bin
Then copy it to this directory:
On Mac
/Users/Shared/LaserSoft Imaging/SilverFast 8/NegaFix/Custom
On PC
C:/ProgramData/LaserSoft Imaging/SilverFast 8/NegaFix/Custom
However it will only appear if the same scanner was used to create it.
Kind regards,
Arne
