When you calibrat your scanner with an IT8..???
When you calibrat your scanner with an IT8..???
When you you use atuo calibration to calibrate your scanner with an IT8 target slide where are the calibration profiles stored? If you switch film stock how or can you reload the most recent calibration profile for the film stock (Kodachrome etc.) that you are now scanning so that you do not have to continually re-atuto calibrate?

Dear hassiman ,
we store the icc profiles in the default colormanagment directory of your operating system.
Windows:
\Windows\system32\spool\drivers\color
Mac OSX:
/Library/ColorSync/Profiles
When you change the scanmode from reflective to transparency or Kodachrome the used ICC profile would change accordingly.

My situation is that I have profile IT8 targets for Kodachrome and Fuji Provia.. so when I have ato-profiled both of these targets when I choose "KODACHROME" the program will automatially sekect the Kodachrome IT8 ICC and when I choose "transparency "it will choose the Provia ICC?

Dear hassiman ,
when using a Kodak and Fuji Target you would have to switch the profile manually in the CMS tab.
Please note that you would also need to enable a custom profile name in order to give both profiles an individual name that you can easily recognise.

Re: When you calibrat your scanner with an IT8..???
Let's say I had first profiled with the SilverFast Fuji Provia IT8 target and scanned some Velveia and then next decided to scan Kodachrome and then profiled with the SilverFats Kodachrome IT8 target and then switched the film type in SilverFast to Kodachrome. After scanning the Kodachromes will I have to re-profile with the Silverfast Provia IT8 target before scanning Velvia again or will the proper profile be in place simply be swithing the film type in Silverfast AI from Kodachrome to transparancy?

Dear Hassiman,
Yes, SilverFast writes internally in every color profile if it is a normal slide or Kodachrome, when you any of these options it will work with the proper profile, it means you do not have to calibrate everytime you switch from positive to Kodachrome.
Cheers
