updating HDR removes all film profiles

Postby catbrown » Tue May 13, 2003 9:55 pm

I just updated to the latest release of HDR v6.0.2r07 and all film profiles except the last one I had used in the earlier version are gone from Negafix.

To make matters worse, the one remaining profile is an edit I had done for a particular image.

And to make matters even worse, the original reason I updated was to see if I could get updated film profiles <g>.

Short of reverting to the earlier version, is there anything I can do to remedy this?

Ok, I found the download for the optimized profiles, so I now have profiles for a few Kodak films and one Agfa flim. That's it. That's all I have.

Now, how do I get the remaining profiles for HDR?

Is anyone from Lasersoft going to address this? A few hours before I posted here on May 13, I also sent a request to email tech support. I have received no response from that either.

Given the price of HDR and the charge for online telephone support at a very pricey $1.99 a minute, I would expect a prompt reply from a responsible company.

Try the latest version (a). Eric said they had left the profiles out by mistake and the download is corrected as of 5/15

Well, I tried the new download and nothing has changed.

I deinstalled the old version and installed the new using the newly downloaded installer. The HDR version number that is installed is identical to the previous one (v6.0.2.7) and I still only have the profiles I downloaded and imported manually. That is, one Agfa profile and a few of the Kodak profiles.

I don't even have the SF "standard" profile. When I choose "other" in Negafix, the preview goes completely black.

And I still have heard nothing back from Lasersoft tech support!

I'm disappointed.

Who is Eric? How can I contact him?

Thanks.

:-? Please try the following steps:
- make a backup of your SilverFast / Prefs folder and delete it
- launch again HDR

Are all the NegaFix profiles available now? If no, please send me a pm.

In any case, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Thomas, thanks so much. That did the trick and all the profiles are now available.

One further question. Should I now import the enhanced profiles available in the download page or are these already incorporated in the new HDR version?

Thanks again to you and to Frank for helping out.

The NegaFix profiles are built in the plug-in. No need to download external profiles.
