Suggestions to scan pre-press negs

Postby kylebellamy » Tue Jul 29, 2003 1:01 am

I'm currently converting my Pre-Press area to direct-to-plate technology. Currently I have a bunch of of negatives that are used to burn plates to the presses downstairs. What I am going to do is scan in the negs as I need them but I have not found any profile that fits the type of negs I use.

If there's anybody out there who understands what I mean please help me out here. It's a Laser Red RIP station that uses Kodak film. Appreciate any help.

It's mostly line art and text. No screens to speak of and no halftones.

Within SilverFast Ai you could open in the NegaFix dialog the Expert mode. There you can change the gradiation curves for each profile.
Now you can take one nearly good one, and change the profile, so it looks good. Now you can save the Negafixprofile with your own name. You could use it later with the other negatives.

kind regards
