I was playing with the settings, when i didnt like something, so i simply reset all settings... the next time a loaded SF, NegaFix appeared with a yellow caution over a film strip as a symbol that i can only guess is something wrong... after trying to fix the problem, i simply got frustrated, and reinstalled SF. The problem remained...
now i scan in anything, and the colours are all screwed, with loss of detail in highlights... what im i doing wrong? what must i do do to correct my program - it was working fine, but now i cant generate a decent scan... and im guessing its something to do with the NegaFix error icon...

Dear marksclone
please choose the Expert mode in the Negafix floater.
In the "Expansion" panel you will find a checkbox to the left of the "Auto" button.
In your case, this is set to the unchecked state, which means that the orange mask of the film is _not_ automatically detected and corrected for.
Please set this checked again (or click on the "Auto" button), and your Negafix will work as usual.
The icon that you describe is not an error, but a warning to signal to you that Auto is off, especially when your Negafix floater is in non-Expert mode.
Best regards
