please explain what negafix is and where it is found etc

im new to SF. I want to basically clean up B and W negs. I am using Nikon View that does a terrific job with color negs. am i being deceived?
what is negafix what does it do how does it work and where do i get it
and is it part of the main scanning software?

Negafix is a feature of SilverFast and no add-on.
