Negafix Profiles Missing after upgrade to 6.5.0r.6

Postby agripix » Fri Jun 29, 2007 10:02 pm

I sent a message to Technical, but no reply.

Mac OS X 10.4 and Epson V750

I've been using Ai6 happily and with good success for quite a while now. Purchased the upgrade - still fine. Just downloaded latest 6.5.0r6 and when I go to Negafix, there are no profiles for film. No profiles. :( Looked at Negatives, Transparencies, even Reflective (!!!) but no joy. Just import or delete etc. when looking at negatives (From where??)

I downloaded the software, the documentation, and the movie, just to be sure. I had already dragged the older version to trash, cleared trash, did a restart etc.

The new download SF will open via Launcher or CS2 PS. Everything else seems normal, just no Negafix profiles.

Any tips or fixes, please? :-?

Dear agripix

If you're suddenly missing the SilverFast Negafix profiles, you can force SilverFast to reextract them from the plugin by deleting the Negafix profiles and SF prefs.

In order to do so, remove the "LaserSoft Imaging" folder while SF isn't running.

Mac:
/Users/(your username)/Library/Preferences/LaserSoft Imaging

Win:
\Documents and settings\(your username)\Application data\LaserSoft Imaging

However, be aware that you're resetting SF to defaults when doing so - i.e. you will lose you other settings, too.

Negafix Fixed

Thank you, Sonny !

Did as you suggested, and it worked. :-p

However, when I opened again via CS2 PS, I had to locate the plug-in (SF Epson) and location etc. before PS would open SF.

Seems like the plug-in location will not remain, and therefore, each opening since, I have to manually tell PS where to find the plug-in. This is a 'new' problem to me, seems like since the update only.

What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?

Greetings,

Colin
