NegaFix Prescan Positive but Scans back to Negative

Processing very old Kodak negative B&W, safety film 5062. Pre-scan image comes up correctly (positive) using the following settings: Kodak as mnfgr, Other film type, Max 400 exposure, auto unchecked, CCR unchecked, .4 brightness. What could possible cause the reversion to a negative image after scan? Thanks.
