Nega-Fix in LS-LE &Epson 2450

Greetings,

Does Laser Soft LE bundled with the Epson 2450 have a fully functional version of Nega fix?
When I try to scan negatives the preview scan is all black. The Nega Fix dialogue box will drop the list of films but no matter what I click on it still defaults to OTHER with the auto unchecked.
I can scan the negs with the Epson twain and the Silver Fast AI demo as well as another demo brand software.
I would like to resolve this problem so I can decide which product to upgrade to.

Dear Jah,
I tested this with a current SilverFast(Epson-SE) Windows version 6.0.1r16 on Win2000 and PS7.
There were no problems at all with negative scanning. Every NegaFix function was available.

What is your configuration?
Did you try un-installing SilverFast SE and re-installing it again?

After working with the problem over the weekend it seems that my problem is not with the negaFix after all.
I am using Win2K and Photoshop 6 and the Epson 2450 scanner. SF SE ver. 5.5 0r06.
My original installation of the SF LE was in my Win2K admin profile and everything seemed to work fine. The next time I used SF LE was with my non admin porfile and I was prompted to enter the serial number again. After the program started is when I noticed NegaFix not working. I then downloaded and installed the demo of LS Ai. After a problem using Ai I realized I downloaded the wrong version and uninstalled both AI and LE. After reloading both Ai demo and the LE version I foung that LE would not keep the serial number in my non admin profile and that seems to be why NegaFix does not work properly. Everything works fine when I use the admin profile.
I checked the permissions in the PS profiles folder as well as the import/export folder and they allow read & write as well as all other functions.
So now the problem is why the serial number will not take on the non admin profile.
I like SF LE and Ai and would like resolve the problem for more testing and then install my Photoshop 7 upgrade.
