When I scan color negatives, I find that the Monochrome profile often gives me results better than a film's corresponding file can do. I'd like to make more use of this profile. Where can I find out more characteristics of the Monochrome profile? like its color response, contrast curve and more?

You can open the expert dialogue in NegaFix and select the "Curves" tab.
Withing the expert dialogue you can even modify your existing curves to produce other outcomes.
